Maya is an award-winning, trilingual writer-director known for storytelling that jumpstarts social dialogue. * 2023 Recently won THE BEST DIRECTOR AWARD for her film "THE RINGMASTER"at the PARIS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Maya has directed films on four continents in English, Spanish and French for clients including Warner Brothers, Disney, Nike, VISA, Google, Chevrolet and IBM. Her branded entertainment has been featured in AdAge, AdWeek, AdLand, The Drum and Little Black Book for emotional storytelling and exceptionally diverse casting. In 2021, she won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at LA Diversity Film Festival and was nominated for Best Director. Her commercial, “Give the Gift of Joy,” won an Emmy for “Best Commercial,” and “Giveaway” won Gold at the American Advertising Awards. Her original screenplays were recent semifinalists in Austin, BlueCat, Screencraft, and LA Screenplay Awards. In 2020, she wrote and directed a surreal dark comedy, FREEZE, starring Chris Parnell, Adrian Grenier, Nora Zehetner, Kel Mitchell and Mindy Sterling, which took home “Best Short” and “Best Actress” at its premiere at Series Fest. She has also won the Directors Guild of America awarded her the inaugural Commercial Directors Diversity Fellowship, and her commercial, “History” for Georgia Pacific, was a Best New Work in Shoot Mag, and she also received their “Badge of Honor for Rising Female Filmmaker.”
